The CIMD Group shares the 219,500 euros
of its 7th Solidarity Day between 8 NGOs
+ Over the first six years, it has given more than one million euros (€1,279,875) to those most in need.
Madrid, 15 December 2001.- The CIMD group, the largest independent intermediation, consulting, management and energy group in Spain and Portugal, wanted to contribute yet against this year to helping finance projects for children and research in Spain and Portugal.
This pioneering action in the Spanish markets, consists of handing over the full intermediation and turnover revenues generated that day by the group's nine companies to a group of NGOs selected by the Group’s Board in order to help run projects for the those most in need and improve their quality of life.
The NGOs chosen in 2011 cover a number of sectors amongst those most disadvantaged: children, immigrants, research, primary care, leisure, etc.
After studying the projects proposed, the CIMD group Board decided to hand the 291,500 euros generated on the 7th DÍA SOLIDARIO to the following NGOs:
ASION, (Madrid Region Children’s Oncology Association), full annual funding for 2011 to “maintain accommodations for families away from home (guesthouses)
because their children are being treated for cancer”: €111,450.
CAICO, “Proyecto Asunción-Investigación”, full funding for the programme to fight childhood cancer (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia) managed by the Hospital del Niño Jésus Haemo-Oncology and Transport Service
in Madrid + 2012 research scholarship: €13,500. Renewal of the project supported 2006-2010.
CRIS Foundation against cancer, “Investing in research is investing in life”; full funding of the research project: NK Cell Team: Immunotherapy with natural Killer cells in children with cancer.
This project will be carried out at the Hospital Niño Jesús. Amount of annual financing: €88,550.
ANAR Foundation, help for children and teenagers (900 20 20 10); a free, confidential hotline that operates across the nation 24 hours a day, every day of the year. This hotline offers immediate psychological, social and legal assistance
to young people with problems or who are in an at-risk situation: €14,500.
EOF Association. Immigrants and local youth with social difficulties in the Central District. Immigrant and local families in a
vulnerable social position and, therefore, facing integration difficulties. Families and young people with difficulties entering the
jobs market and instable employment. Single mothers. Treatment, resolution and/or prevention of personal, relationship, family and social
conflicts among 40 foreign and local young people aged 6 to 17, also facilitating active participation, at a group and community level,
in natural spaces for intercultural coexistence in Madrid's Central District. Contribution: €23,500.
Santiago Masarnau Centre for social integration, the St. Vincent de Paul Society: Madrid soup kitchen. Contribution: €15,000.
Additionally, through our company in Lisbon, Intermoney Portugal sfc, we will finance two projects in Portugal for the amount of €25,000.
“Nariz Vermelho” Foundation: Funding of hospital clowns in hospitals.
“Acreditar” Foundation: Shelter homes for children without families being treated for cancer.
